Ashley earned her PhD from the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department at UNCG. She earned her M.S. at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, where she worked with a team to develop an evidence-based communication skills training program for student-athletes. Ashley has worked as a speech-language pathologist in clinical, corporate, and educational settings since 1998, helping people of all ages communicate more effectively to improve their performance at school, work, and home. She supports the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s position that effective communication is a human right, and is devoted to developing the communication skills of underserved populations. Ashley excels at sport fandom, and has particular love for OSU Cowboy basketball, NZ All Blacks rugby, Philly Flyers hockey, and New England Patriots football. She is able to thwart detection of an ESPN mobile score alert with a cleverly timed cough 97% of the time.
