UNCG News highlighted the research being done by the Center for Athlete Well-being and Prevention Strategies on esport athletes’ well-being. The article discusses TEAMS (The Esport Athlete Mental well-being Study), the largest academic study to date about esports athletes’ perceptions and experiences; including academic experiences, relationships with coaches, mental health, the gaming environment, and substance abuse, an esports coach’s program under development, and other opportunities to translate research into programs to positively impact gamer health, well-being and experiences.

“Esports is the most exciting thing I’ve seen in my career to help push translational research and innovation forward.” David Wyrick, Founder of The Center for Athlete Well-being and President of Prevention Strategies.
